Thanks for stopping by, Heloise. I'm not a vegetarian so my options aren't limited by that, but I've found that most ethnic restaurants are pretty good about including vegetarian choices on their menus, and as long as one isn't a vegan, there are almost always choices available. I think unless you're dining at a steak house, most places are aware of the fact that some diners prefer to go meatless.

One thing I don't go in for is "fake meat" so if I were a vegetarian I'd be making my choices from among dishes made with vegetables, grains, and perhaps some cheese or beans for protein.

Hi Lisa,

I just thought I would browse your Web site. I am having the same problems eating away from home. I had to go to Galveston, TX where there are NO vegetarian restaurants and of course the economy there has tanked and that's why CAST (science teacher group) had the meeting there. The beach was nice but actually ending up eating at the Rain Forest because they had a veggie burger. So the moral of the food story is be adventurous you might find something good to eat.

I have posted about eggless brownies in the microwave oven and my best apple crisp ever.
